DEMO SAMPLE DATA — INSTRUCTOR NOTES
Implementing AI in Your Business · August 5, 2026
Keep this file OUT of the folders you point the tools at. It will pollute the output.

Every name, address, company, and figure in these files is invented. Nothing here is
real client data. Say that out loud in the room when you open Demo 1.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Riverside_Agency_Onboarding/ → DEMO 1 (Cowork)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8 files. Point Cowork at this folder.

The whole demo depends on the three welcome messages contradicting each other.
Here is what disagrees, so you can point at it when the SOP comes back:

INTAKE FORM Marcy sends it AFTER the follow-up call.
Priya sends it BEFORE the kickoff call.
Dale never mentions it at all.
BILLING SETUP Priya does it FIRST, before anything else goes out.
Dale's letter puts it nowhere. Marcy never mentions it.
ID CARDS Only Dale sends them. Tonya's notes question whether the
                  carrier mails them directly.
TIMELINE Dale promises a producer callback within 48 hours.
Marcy says documents "within the week."
Priya promises a 20-minute kickoff call.
KICKOFF CALL Only Priya does one, and she says she does not make it optional.

"onboarding notes - do not delete.txt" is the office manager's list of open
questions. It is the file that makes the room laugh, because everyone has one.

Client_Records_2026.xlsx has deliberate data problems: a missing email, a phone
in the wrong format, a lowercase city, a space inside an email address, and a
blank client-since date.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SpringHouse_Garden_Center/ → DEMOS 2 and 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SpringHouse_Sales_Export_Mar-May_2026.csv 426 rows, 9 categories. DEMO 2.

MARGIN SPREAD IS REAL, so "margin by category" has something to say:
     Pottery 62% · Perennials 59% · Shrubs 56% · Annuals 56%
     Seasonal 55% · Chemicals 49% · Bird 47% · Tools 37%
Soil & Amendments 37% <- the bulk goods story

PLANTED SLOW MOVERS (aged, expensive, sitting): Bird Bath heater (0 sold,
26 on hand), Concrete Planter 18in, Fiberglass Planter 24in, Whiskey Barrel
Planter, Glazed Urn 20in, Amaryllis Kit, Garden Cart, Japanese Maple
'Crimson Queen' 10gal, Deer Repellent 1gal, Sprayer 2gal, Hopper Feeder.

PLANTED DATA PROBLEMS — worth pointing at if the tool catches them:
Pine Straw bale ................ unit cost is 0.00
Hose 75ft vinyl ................ units sold is -3
Straw bale decorative .......... priced below cost
Pansy flat 18ct (fall) ......... units sold but Last_Sold is blank
Nyjer Seed, Nectar Concentrate, Bone Meal, Soil Knife ... 3x+ markup

SpringHouse_Cost_Sheet_2026.xlsx DEMO 5. Load into Google Sheets.
Vendor_Price_Change_Emails_TO_PASTE.docx DEMO 5. Paste each block into a
                                            separate Gmail message. DELETE the
                                            first page (instructor notes) first.

The five emails are deliberately different shapes:
    1. Sylvan Ridge — clean table. Easy win.
    2. Piedmont Bulk — price changes buried inside ordinary prose.
    3. Ironwood — refers to an attachment that does not exist. The model
should say the detail is not available, not invent it.
    4. Catawba — "somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 to 15 percent."
THIS IS THE ONE TO POINT AT. Does it flag the
uncertainty or make up a number?
    5. Sylvan Ridge — no pricing change at all. Pure noise.

  Two changes exceed 10%: Pine Bark Mulch ($3.15 -> $3.72, +18%) and
  Bypass Pruner 8in ($9.85 -> $11.20, +14%). The 10-10-10 fertilizer
($17.80 -> $19.40) is +9%, just under the line. Good test of the flag rule.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Riverside_Renewals/ → DEMO 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Riverside_Policy_Renewals.xlsx 28 policies. 20 renew within 60 days of Aug 5.
Riverside_Contact_Log.xlsx Same clients, last-contact dates.

Client IDs match Client_Records_2026.xlsx, so Demo 4 reads as the same agency
from Demo 1. Build Demo 1 first.

Roughly a third of the clients are 60+ days since last contact.
Two edge cases worth seeing whether the tool respects:
    - one overdue client is flagged Do Not Email = Yes
    - one client has NO contact date at all since the policy was written

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blue_Ridge_Realty/ → DEMO 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blue_Ridge_Realty_Market_Report_Format.docx — the 7-slide format reference.
Attach or paste this with the Demo 3 goal prompt. Pick a real Asheville-area
neighborhood with enough recent activity that comps exist.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ridgeline_Fabrication/ → DEMO 6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 files, mixed DOCX and PDF. Load all of them into one NotebookLM notebook
the night before. Do not build it live.

THE PLANTED CONTRADICTION — this is the demo:
"Lead Times - Standard and Custom.docx" (June 2024) says custom orders of
500 units and above take 6 weeks.
"Custom Order Lead Time Update - Jan 2026.pdf" says the break is at
250 units and above, at 5 weeks, and explicitly says the old sheet is wrong.

So when you ask "What is our lead time on custom orders over 500 units?"
a good answer cites the January 2026 memo, gives 5 weeks, and notes that
the 2024 sheet still says 6 weeks. Point at the citation.

DELIBERATE GAPS, so "what do these documents NOT answer" works:
time off / PTO · overtime rules · who to call when a machine goes down ·
material requisition · expense reimbursement · parking

The out-of-date new hire checklist lists these exact questions at the
bottom, which is the joke: the shop already knows what it has not written
down. It also sends new hires to Rusty Kilbourne, who retired in 2024.
